enjoy firmer, brighter and healthier skin with Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic Acupuncture also known as facial acupuncture is a powerful and non-invasive anti-aging treatment with lasting results

What is Cosmetic Acupuncture? aka Facial acupuncture

Cosmetic Acupuncture also known as Facial Rejuvenation is a safe, gentle and natural anti-aging practice to enhance beauty and wellbeing. The treatment can be used to assist in softening lines and wrinkles, lifting sagging, increasing firmness and boosting blood circulation for that bright, even and glowing skin that everyone dreams of having. It also addresses your health and the whole body, so problem skin. Being safe, natural and gentle, there is so much that Facial Rejuvenation can treat.

Although it may sound like a relatively new idea, Cosmetic Acupuncture is supported by almost 5000 years of documentation and has since then been refined and developed into a practice we can bring to modern Australia.

Very fine needles that are made especially to be used for the face are inserted using different techniques on different areas of the face to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin to achieve a firming effect to the face.

How Does Cosmetic Acupuncture Work? is it Anti-aging?

The acupuncture needles stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness. Improved circulation helps to nourish the skin and increase its radiance. The needles also work to relax facial muscles, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment for people of all skin types and ages. It is a holistic approach that not only improves the appearance of the skin but also addresses underlying imbalances in the body that can contribute to the aging process.

The result? Skin that feels and looks more plump, healthy and glowing.

What Can I Expect From My Treatments? How Many Treatments Are Necessary?

Your first session will involve an overall Traditional Chinese Medicine health assessment to determine any areas of imbalance. Once the treatment begins many needles will be inserted into the face and body, however, these needles are extremely fine and inserted in such a gentle manner that clients find it incredibly relaxing, often falling asleep during the treatment.

This protocol requires 10-15 sessions and treatments should be twice a week for the first three weeks, then weekly treatments for the following sessions. It is important to complete all sessions to achieve the full effect and long-lasting results. While many people notice some results after their first treatment, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture has a cumulative effect with the best improvement usually noticed around the seventh treatment. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 4-6 weeks to maintain best results, with the entire protocol being repeated every 3-5 years.

How Does Cosmetic Acupuncture Work?

Yes, Cosmetic Acupuncture is a very effective treatment. Realistic expectations of Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments include an improved more even and glowing complexion, increased moisture and hydration to skin, a gradual increase in tone and firmness, softening of lines and wrinkles and lifting and tightening of sagging or drooping areas. People that suffer from problem skin such as acne, dryness, eczema and rosacea can also expect their skin problems to be greatly reduced, if not eliminated completely.

Are There Any Side-Effects?

As with any acupuncture treatment performed by a qualified and registered practitioner, Cosmetic Acupuncture is extremely safe. Since the face is a highly vascular area very slight bleeding and mild bruising may occur, however, we take several precautions to reduce or eliminate these effects. Caution must be used with certain potentially serious health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, migraines and others, so please advise us if you have any health conditions before booking. Cosmetic Acupuncture cannot be performed during pregnancy, however, traditional acupuncture can be very beneficial.

What kind of results should can you expect?

Results of hydrated, softened and glowing skin are visible within 1 – 2 weeks. At 4-6 weeks, skin around the mouth and cheeks feels tighter and lines are beginning to soften. One of the most common feedback we get is that patients say that even after the first treatment they find their skin has become softer and easier to manage. Their skin is hydrated and dryness disappears– this is due to the instant blood flow that arrives to the face and skin during the facial acupuncture.

Results are going to depend on your own body’s ability to respond to the stimulation that the facial needles and treatment provide. The healthier you are and the better you look after yourself, the faster and better your results will be because you are responding more rapidly due to your body “functioning” at its best and giving you the most optimal response.

Unlike Botox and fillers, there is nothing being injected or added to your face. The needles will be placed in certain locations with a number of different techniques to start of a process of collagen production in the local area to produce firmness and softening of lines.

How many Acupuncture treatments will I need?

The number of Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments needed varies for each individual, as it depends on their specific skin condition and desired outcomes. Some clients may see significant improvements with fewer sessions, while others may require several treatments to achieve their desired results. Your Acupuncturist is the best person to assess your unique needs and offer guidelines on the appropriate treatment frequency.

Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments are cumulative in their effects, meaning that each session builds upon the last. For optimal results, it is common for weekly visits to be suggested, especially in the initial phase of treatment. This frequency helps to kickstart the rejuvenation process and lays the foundation for subsequent improvements.

As the desired outcomes start to manifest, and your skin’s condition improves, your Acupuncturist may recommend extending the duration between visits. This adjustment allows the body to naturally respond to the treatment and maintain the benefits achieved during the sessions.

Remember, patience and consistency are key in achieving the best results with Cosmetic Acupuncture. By following your Acupuncturist’s personalized treatment plan and adhering to their guidelines, you can enhance the potential for successful and long-lasting rejuvenation of your skin.
